Tracking 🦌 and finding 🦌 has to be a highlight! Top kids building top shelters and managing to keep their fires lit all day long… whilst playing manhunt, making bows and spears and feasting on hot chocolate and s’mores…Fun fun fun! Good work Team Bobble Hat and The Adventurers! See you next year one and all!

Only for the brave…

December 16th dawned cold and crisp – and we set about preparing for a very special birthday party – Max’s 11th birthday – (special as it was going to be mostly in the DARK!)

Our intrepid Bushcraft Boys arrived prepared for the cold and wearing this year’s most important accessory – The Head Torch…. We set off on foot to try and raise our body temperatures arriving in the woods for a zero degree start at 2pm. One thing was for sure it was only going to get colder and darker…

The boys were up for everything we threw at them – shelter building, fire lighting, spear making and even gutting and cooking pheasants in the dark!!! We drank hot chocolate, ate s’mores and feasted on mum Jo’s delicious campfire cakes before playing a totally epic and terrifying game of manhunt in the dark…Bring it on boys! You were brilliant and I think we had as much fun as you – parties in the dark ROCK.

Children can run free in our woods all year round come rain or shine – so this Christmas give them a Bushcraft Adventure…

Girl Power!

Alice Party Montage 3 4.11.17

Last weekend we had a brilliant group of girls join us to celebrate Alice’s 11th Birthday. Wow, those girls were totally on it and up for it in the woods. They set to work fire lighting and shelter building with great gusto and creativity and there was some fascinating attention to detail… We decided by the end of the day that the shelter they built might be our best yet and we have left it up for others to see and get inspiration from.

The girls made a really super bunch of bows and even managed to craft some twig cobwebs to take home. After lunch, birthday cake and SKULL ID (involving some huge antlers!) we held our shooting lesson and competition.

The girls showed great team spirit, helping each other in all the tasks they completed, and generally had a fantastic Bushcraft Adventure. The woods were echoing with laughter long after they left – come back any time girls – you rocked!!!

Bonkers Bushcraft Birthday

What a great group of up-for-it boys we had on Saturday for Felix’s Bushcraft Birthday Party. They learnt how to light a fire, build a shelter and then made the most impressive bunch of bows we’ve seen! They had a really good go at firing them as well – managing to hit a target 10 metres away… Epic effort boys….

Prizes were given out for Best Fire Starter (Hugo on a record breaking 3 strikes!) for Tenacity (Hector on 98 strikes!) and for Best Shot and Longest Shot (Monty aka Robin Hood!)…

The boys played, listened and learned and (hopefully) had a blast running round our woods for four hours..

Bushcraft Magic at work…..
